Nyeri is a town 180 kilometer north of Nairobi. It lies at the base of the Aberdare Range. It is the administrative center of Central Province and Nyeri District. The local landscape includes beautiful Mount Kenya. The area is very fertile. There are not many tourist spots in Nyeri. Climate of Nyeri is more or less soothing except in the rainy seasons. Rainfall is quite heavy in these regions in the month of March to May and also between October and November. So the best time to visit the tourist spots in Nyeri is in winter or during the spring and autumn.

Gakere Road in Nyeri: This place is the most important street of Nyeri housing restaurants, cyber cafes, bookshops and supermarkets. You can take a cab to wander around the city.
Aberdare National Park in Nyeri: The Aberdare Park is mostly renowned for Treetops. Like Mount Kenya it has a mixture of montane grasslands, forest and moorland with birds not likely to be seen in other parts of Kenya.
Wajee Nature Park: This park is not only an alluring attraction for the bird lovers, it also attracts naturalists of all sorts as entomologists and lepidopterists have marked this place for the wide variety of birds and butterflies to be found here. A casual traveler may take a walk to the nearby waterfalls and a coffee factory. On a clear day one can also get a glimpse of Mt. Kenya in the distance from a viewing tower.
