The important cities of Kenya are well known for their natural and demographic resource. There are around three cities which can be termed as important cities of Kenya. These include Nairobi, Mombasa and Meru. Other than this, there are other cities which can also be termed as important cities of Kenya. Nairobi: This city is the capital city of Kenya and is also considered to be the main commercial center of the country. This is one of the biggest as well as busiest cities in Kenya. Here you can find everything ranging from shopping malls, cinema halls, hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions and a lot more. This place is always hustling and bustling with activities.
Mombasa: This is another important city which is also known as the second important city of Kenya. After Nairobi, this city is the most sought after city by the tourists when we speak of tourist attractions. This city is popularly known as “Island of War”. Some of the important tourist attractions of the place includes Fort Jesus, Biashara Street and a lot more.
Malindi: This is one of the important coastal cities in Kenya. A large number of Italian tourists visit this place. This city is a link between Mombasa and Lamu Island. Various National Parks especially marine national parks are situated here.
Lamu Island: This place is famous as the best preserved and oldest Swahili settlement in East Africa. This also ranks on top in the world heritage list. This was a center for slave trade during the earlier times. Other than this there is Lamu Museum, Lamu Fort as well as Riyadha Mosque.
Meru: This is an important town located near the northeast slopes on Mount Kenya. There are various tourist attractions here which include Samburu and Buffalo Springs National Reserves, Meru National Park and others. Not only this there are various educational institutions here and also the Kenya Methodist University here as well.
