Kenya is divided into 8 main provinces. These provinces or mikowa have 71 districts or wilaya’at that is further broken down into 262 divisions or taarafa. These are then subdivided into 1,088 areas or kata approximately and finally they are divided into smaller administrative regions of kata ndogo. Travel to Kwale would be incomplete without dining at Kwale. There are a number of restaurants and eateries in Kwale that serve authentic Kenyan cuisine and options for dining at Kwale.
The cuisine of Kenya consists of items, like ugali, chapati, githeri, goat meat, Nyama Choma, stews, samosas and sukuma wiki. Ugali is made from maize and is simply cooked in boiling water till it assumes the same thickness and character as bread dough. Ugali does not have a flavor of its own, but it is mostly supplemented with gravy sauces, meals and dishes. It also tastes better with chicken or vegetables stew.

Kenyan cuisine has been influenced a lot by the Indian cuisine and some of the Indian dishes have come to occupy an important place among all the Kenyan dishes, like the chapati, which is a staple food of India. The chapati is circular flat bread made out of wheat, maize or paddy. The Indian samosas, which are filled with meat, have come to occupy the position of a tasty roadside snack that is available in almost all restaurants and fast food joints. Githeri is a type of maize and beans stew. Other vegetables and meat may also be added to make these stews. Goat meat is the favorite of all the meats that are available. However, nyama choma is made by roasting beef on fire. This is also a popular snack and is found almost everywhere. Sukuma wiki forms the main part of the Kenyan cuisine. It is actually the staple diet of Kwale.
